Caetano, please, stop! Please, don’t do it to zecalouro. Caetano knows that I get really nervous when I have to show Loronixers any LP from the Label Coledisc. They are pretty hard to speak about. Do yourself a search on Loronix Find It and check by yourself what is already available of Conjunto Balambossa, there are more than a few albums. What amazes myself is that nobody knows exactly the musicians on these disc, each one different from the other. That’s right Caetano, to write about Coledisc LPs is like to fly on a plane with no instruments.

This is Conjunto Balambossa – Samba ao Vivo (no date), for Coledisc. Taking in consideration Samba ao Vivo and previous Conjunto Balambossa LPs at Loronix, I feel confident to say that this is the best one, really dancing, with duels between organ and guitar. If you had fun with any previous Balambossas, do not hesitate to take this one. Coledisc label has some followers on this style of saying anything about their albums, such as Nilsen, Distac and the legendary Palladium from Minas Gerais, but nothing compares to Coledisc with the creation of this multi-purpose Conjunto Balambossa. Tracks include:

01 – Samba Triste (Baden Powell / Billy Blanco)
02 – Boato (João Roberto Kelly)
03 – Moeda Quebrada (Luis Reis / Haroldo Barbosa)
04 – Amor e Paz (Tito Madi)
05 – Volta (Luis Bandeira / Djalma Ferreira)
06 – Murmúrio (Djalma Ferreira / Luis Antônio)
07 – Na Roda do Samba (Orlann Divo / Hélton Menezes)
08 – Dizem Por Aí (Manoel da Conceição / Alberto Paz)
09 – Fica Comigo (Luis Antônio)
10 – Falsa Baiana (Geraldo Pereira)
11 – Fiz o Bobão (Haroldo Barbosa / Luis Reis)
12 – Zelão (Sergio Ricardo)

Mr. D&C will be pleased with this post. Since the fist list sent to zecalouro, Mr. D&C had this LP listed. I’m happy to have it now to Mr. D&C and Loronixers, it was part of another of those nice opportunities at the old vinyl shops in Rio.

This is Conjunto Balambossa – Poema do Adeus (no date), for Coledisc. Another Conjunto Balanbossa LP was released last year. I remember that I said that sometimes the record companies uses to create bands or groups just to make specific releases. I think this is also the case, this LP is different from that one and seems to be played by different musicians. Let’s see what happens. Tracks include:

01 – Na Cadência do Samba (Ataulfo Alves / Paulo Gesta)
02 – Chora Tua Tristeza (Oscar Castro Neves / Luvercy Fiorini)
03 – Nós e o Mar (Roberto Menescal / Ronaldo Bôscoli)
04 – Se Você Disser Que Sim (Luis Bandeira)
05 – Tamanco no Samba (Orlann Divo / Hélton Menezes)
06 – Quem Manda na Minha Vida (Herivelto Martins / Raul Sampaio)
07 – Poema do Adeus (Luis Antônio)
08 – Samba da Madrugada (Dora Lopes / Carminha Mascarenhas / Herotides)
09 – Corcovado (Tom Jobim)
10 – Gamação (João Roberto Kelly)
11 – Palhaçada (Haroldo Barbosa / Luis Reis)
12 – Volta Por Cima (Paulo Vanzolini)

.

Conjunto Balambossa – Nao Quero Ver Voce Triste (1974) with Ed Lincoln

Hello, Good Night! This is a perfect example of how the name “Bossa Nova” was misused by record labels along time. I bought this record today for a bargain and I was very happy to have it. Conjunto Balambossa released another LP by the label Coledisc called Poema do Adeus that is a classic instrumental music album. However, this is not Bossa Nova or a Bossa Jazz LP, but a slight opportunistic use of the term Balambossa on a record full of instrumental boleros with Hammond organ.

Anyway, according with sombras.com.br, the organist is Ed Lincoln and I decided to share just to please Ed Lincoln fans. This is Conjunto Balambossa – Nao Quero Ver Voce Triste (1974), for Coledisc, featuring the organist Ed Lincoln. There are nice moments provided by Ed Lincoln and some shady arrangements that were probably inspired by progressive rock music from the 70’s. Tracks include:

01 – Drink na Praia
02 – People
03 – And I Love You
04 – Nature Boy
05 – Fio de Esperanca
06 – Preciso Aprender a Ser So
07 – Nao Quero Ver Voce Triste
08 – The Shadow of Your Smile
09 – Adventures in Paradise
10 – Naked City
11 – Limelight
12 – Three Stars will Shine Tonight
