Hello, Good Night! First, I need to say sorry about the duplicated track on Luiz Bonfa post. Just on that wonderful post. Bad luck. Loronix engineers are working full time to address the problem and today a fix will be available, with no Rapidshare, direct link.

That’s why I want to start the day with something cool, breezy, light, positive, inspired and played by top-notch musicians. This is Conjunto 3-D – Muito na Onda (1967), for Continental. Everything kind words said before applies to this record that has a mix of Bossa Nova songs with some international standards. Personnel is also great, guess who is that thin and beautiful girl on the table? She is Beth Carvalho, today a renowned Samba composer and interpreter. Helio Delmiro is also on guitar, an amazing Brazilian guitarist. Stay with tracks and complete personnel listing.

Interesting, but fairly cheesy soul-jazz attempt at a Brasil 66 knockoff. Good playing but a bizarre mix of material. Winchester Cathedral? What were they thinking? You can tell their English wasn’t too good — Watermelon Man comes out more like “What a mellow man.” This also has the only recording I know of of Marcos Valles’ Sonho de Lugar, which is odd, because he chose to include such an obscure tune in his Songbook (music book).

that’s wrong, Sonho de lugar was also featured on Neco’s “Samba E Violao” album from 1968..

This version of “E Preciso Cantar” is one of my all-time favorite songs…

Just found this on vinyl (the amazon reissue of 2003) and I must say it IS very light, breezy and cool as Zeca said, but simply enjoyable. I mean, look at the line up (Antonio Adolfo, Beth Carvalho, Rubens Bassini!, etc). It may not be a heavy or challenging listen but it’s fun and sure to keep the toes tapping.

PS-pawlyshyn, so what if her english isn’t so good, it isnt her first language remember. I find it charming. Besides it is much more painful to hear americans attempt to sing in portuguese. 😉
