Mr. E. was working hard in the background, just waiting for our celebration ending to pick another nice contribution to Loronixers. Mr. E. is addressing a request made by Alexandre Coimbra that took CBox users surprised with the information of a pretty unknown Astrud Gilberto album. Thanks Mr. E. for another nice collaboration, I had no hope to make this post; nobody had idea of this LP.
This is Astrud Gilberto – September 17, 1969 (1969), for Verve. The last Astrud Gilberto release at Loronix Astrud Gilberto – I haven’t got Anything Better to Do (1969) is perhaps one of her darkest album ever and this one – recorded in the same year – is just the opposite. September 17, 1969 is groovy and sometimes sounds like rock’n’roll albums from the early 60’s. The repertoire is also different from any other Astrud Gilberto albums, including the legendary The Doors hit Light my Fire, Here, there and Everywhere from John Lennon and Paul McCartney, Begginers from Chicago, among others that you can check just bellow. Tracks include:01 – Beginnings (Lamm)
02 – Holiday (M. Gibb / B. Gibb / R. Gibb)
03 – Here There And Everywhere (John Lennon / Paul McCartney)
04 – Light My Fire (Desmore / Kriegen / Manzarek)
05 – Let Go (Canto de Ossanha)
06 – Let’s Have The Morning After (Joyce / Leonard)
07 – Think Of Rain (Guryan)
08 – Million Miles Away Behind The Door (Lerner / Previn)
09 – Love Is Stronger Far Than We (Barouh, Keller, Lai)
10 – Don’t Leave Me Baby (Nilsson)
11 – Summer Sweet 1 & 2 (Kaplan / White)
Thanks Mr. E. for Astrud Gilberto – September 17, 1969 (1969), at Loronix. Hope uEnjoy!
