Hello, good evening! Here we go on another contribution sent by my mother, strongly recommended by her. She also asked to release it in the beginning of this series and then alternate between Jorge Mello and her contributions. I think it is time to give Loronix control to her. Just kidding, it is a nice idea.
She is a big fan of Toquinho and Vinicius de Moraes, with some DVDs that she uses to spin very frequently, but mom said she got a little bit disappointed with this one, just for being an instrumental album, no lyrics and no singing. In the other hand, I’m really amazed with this one. Toquinho is mostly known as a singer and composer, but he is also a great instrumentalist, one of Paulinho Nogueira disciples. By the way, Toquinho has another instrumental only release at Loronix that you should not miss, here. Let’s see.
This is Toquinho – O Violao do Toquinho (1966), for RGE, featuring Toquinho violão accompanied by an unusual formation with drums, flute and organ played by Ely Arcoverde. I wish everybody a very productive and prosperous week. Tracks include:
Jose Roberto, Marco Antonio
01 – Marcha da Quarta-feira de Cinzas (Carlos Lyra / Vinicius de Moraes) Sonho de Um Carnaval (Chico Buarque)
02 – Triste Amor Que Vai Morrer (Elis Regina / Valter Silva)
03 – Deixa (Baden Powell / Vinicius de Moraes)
04 – Réquiem Para Um Amor (Edu Lobo / Ruy Guerra)
05 – Zambi (Edu Lobo / Vinicius de Moraes)
