Hello, good evening! Let’s update one of the albums that I like most, released a long time ago at Loronix, precisely, January 15th. I could never understand why people did not comment this one. Perhaps this minimalistic black and white Philips cover did not gather our community attention or the music was not well transferred. Anyway, I’m happy to bring Show de Bossa to the spotlight again, the transfer is much better and the missing back cover is now available. Let’s see.
This Corisco e Os Sambaloucos – Show de Bossa (1963), for Philips. Corisco e Os Sambaloucos is lead by Waldemar Marchetti, a Brazilian percussionist very active in the 60’s, releasing with Corisco e Os Sambaloucos more than five albums. Corisco always brings top-notch musicians to his recording sessions and Show de Bossa is not different, featuring Hamilton Godoy (the legendary Zimbo Trio pianist), Heraldo do Monte (guitar), Xu (bass) and others. Tracks include:
Manoel Luis Viana “Xu”
Heraldo do Monte
Dirceu Simoes de Medeiros
01 – Influência do Jazz (Carlos Lyra)
02 – O Samba da Minha Terra (Dorival Caymmi)
03 – Água Com Areia (Jacobina / Jair Amorim)
04 – Pandeiro Triste (Waldemar Marchetti / Manuel Luis Viana / Heraldo do Monte)
05 – Volta Por Cima (Paulo Vanzolini)
06 – Sem Amor (Michel Bonário / Juvenal Fernandes)
07 – Quem Quiser Encontrar o Amor (Carlos Lyra / Geraldo Vandré)

Friends, I told you yesterday, Caetano was really inspired when selected the picks to include in this current package. This is really the one with the hardest to find selections ever. Do not think that we are ordering the rare ones first, the criterion is based on variety and organization of different styles at our first page, between many other cosmetic, and very important things.
I have been tracking this album down with several other friends and I admit that my hope had gone, it was already filed under “impossible”. Among Samba Jazz fans, this is the legendary “fire truck album” and I never could realize how beautiful this cover would be and how good the music is. I’m sure we are having a “magic moment” at Loronix and all credits should go to Caetano Rodrigues.
This is Corisco e Os Sambaloucos – Incendio no Samba (1965), for Philips. If you are already an expert on Corisco e Os Sambaloucos though the previous releases, do not miss this one, they seems to make it better on each release on their unique blending of Samba Jazz, unusual instruments with fun on top of everything. Tracks include:
01 – Bicho do Mato (Jorge Ben “Jorge Benjor”)
02 – Menino das Laranjas (Theo de Barros)
03 – Só Vou de Balanço (João Roberto Kelly)
04 – O Sapo (Jaime Silva / Neusa Teixeira)
05 – Balanço Zona Sul (Tito Madi)
06 – Vou de Samba Com Você (João Mello)
07 – Cara de Pau (Haroldo Barbosa / Luis Reis)
08 – Samba de Brfanco (João Roberto Kelly / J. Rui)
09 – Samba Para o Pedrinho (Walter Santos)
10 – Diz Que Fui Por Aí (Zé Keti / Hortêncio Rocha)
11 – Ela É Carioca (Tom Jobim / Vinicius de Moraes)
12 – Mono Boogie (Denis Brean)
Este disco pode ser buscado no Um que Tenha e no Parallel Realities.
