Cyro Monteiro e Dilermando Pinheiro - Show Teleco Teco Opus Nr. 1 (1966)-FRONT

Cyro Monteiro e Dilermando Pinheiro - Show Teleco Teco Opus Nr. 1 (1966)-BACK

I was saving this album for an eventual Samba Saturday at Loronix, but many friends have requested this important record since Loronix very first beginning. Some reviewers says Teleco Teco Opus Nr. 1 has an historical importance in the definition of future Samba live recordings released in the remaining 60’s and 70’s, being equivalent of the well-known Show Opiniao, recorded by Nara Leao and Ze Ketti in the same year, same theater and using the same format. Let’s see.

This is Cyro Monteiro e Dilermando Pinheiro – Show Teleco Teco Opus Nr. 1 (1966), for Philips, presented at Loronix by an excellent vinyl transfer taken from Philips first 1966 issue. Personnel is not credited, however, my searches were very successful on the identification of Regional do Canhoto backing the duo, including Jacob do Bandolim and Dino Sete Cordas, which is the musician playing the seven string acoustic guitar, partially shown at the front cover above. The repertoire features 33 tunes with no tracks separation. Tracks include:

Elizeth Cardoso e Cyro Monteiro - A Bossa Eterna de Elizeth e Cyro (1966)

backpartialWe spent a time today talking about each other preferences on Brazilian music and singers and I did not get surprised to hear from friends that Elizeth Cardoso is a favorite singer of everybody. People also says that Loronix was of a great help to drive attention to Elizeth and create a new demand and from my point of view, this is truly awesome. I include myself on this category, before Loronix I had a great respect for the Divina and now I’m a big fan. I could not make different today, except closing this beautiful Sunday with the great Elizeth Cardoso and Cyro Monteiro. Let’s see.

This is Elizeth Cardoso & Cyro Monteiro – A Bossa Eterna de Elizeth e Cyro (1966), for Copacabana, with Elizeth Cardoso, Cyro Monteiro and O Regional do Caculinha, performing in the repertoire of their Bossaudade TV show. If this Bossaudade TV show presented by the duo had the same atmosphere of this album, it should be a really great entertainment, the performances are great and Caculinha delivers a nice accompaniment with his Regional, making another Elizeth Cardoso album that really worth checking out. Now I understand why AdHoc has been requesting this album for such a long time. Tracks include:

01 – Nega (Waldemar Gomes / Afonso Teixeira) – Faço Um Lê Lê Lê (Luis Reis / Haroldo Barbosa) – Dance Mais Um Bocado (Henricão / Príncipe Pretinho) – Deixa Andar (Jujuba) – Já Vai (Rubens Campos / Duba)
02 – Melancolia (Denis Brean)
03 – Franqueza (Denis Brean / Osvaldo Guilherme)
04 – Primeiro Amor (Ismael Silva / Nilton Bastos) – Fui Louco (Alcebíades Barcelos “Bide”) – Nem É Bom Falar (Ismael Silva / Francisco Alves / Nilton Bastos) – Mágoas de Um Vagabundo (Walfrido Silva / Osvaldo Silva) – Tenha Pena de Mim (Ai Meu Deus) (Babaú / Ciro de Souza) – Vai Haver Barulho no Chatô (Walfrido Silva / Noel Rosa) – Vitória (Romualdo Peixoto “Nonô” / Noel Rosa) – Pela Primeira Vez (Cristóvão de Alencar / Noel Rosa) – Até Amanhã (Noel Rosa)
05 – O Que É Que Eu Dou (Dorival Caymmi / Antônio Almeida) – Não Ponha a Mão (Bucy Moreira / Mutt / Arnô Canegal) – Morena Boca de Ouro (Ary Barroso) – Eu Sou Manhoso (Vicente Paiva) – Mulata Assanhada (Ataulfo Alves)

I think we could not make better than closing this nice day with a solid Samba album performed by a duo. This should fulfill the needs of those in the mood of something very easy to listen and very connected with the music from Brazil. Actually, this is an upgrade of an already released album, now improved on graphics and music, including the FLAC files option, which is gradually positioning Loronix as a reference. Let’s see what we have here.

Hello, Good Evening! Let’s start the Sunday Samba post presenting a Samba legend and his debut LP, Cyro Monteiro, a renowned Samba interpreter, active on recordings since 1936. Hello, Good Evening! Let’s start today with a post that was only possible with the collaboration of several Loronixers. Everything started three months ago with Caetano Rodrigues, he said to me in Sao Paulo that this album is a classic and could not stay away from Loronix longer. I just make note of it and since then, we did not talk to each other about it.

However, a couple of days ago someone shouted at the message box for this album. So, I could remember very well that I missed the chance with Caetano, actually, I spoke with Caetano today and he said: “I said to you at that time!”, Caetano is great, great as our community. In a matter of days I received two contributions from Cesar Saldanha and Hideste, which I want to thanks for making this really fantastic album available.

This is Cyro Monteiro – De Vinicius e Baden Especialmente para Cyro Monteiro (1965), for Elenco. It has been a long time since the last Elenco LP, the legendary Bossa Nova record label owned by Aloysio de Oliveira, producer and director of this album. Cyro Monteiro was an important Samba interpreter, considered by Vinicius de Moraes as the greatest popular Brazilian singer ever. This is a unique Elenco album and Aloysio de Oliveira direction makes the difference. Cyro Monteiro performs Vinicius de Moraes and Baden Powell compositions. You cannot miss this one. Personnel includes Baden Powell. Tracks includes:
