This is the third recovery of a series of albums that disappeared from Loronix discography. Some friends are asking me the reasons why they had disappeared, and in most cases, unfortunately, I cannot remember why. But what really matters is that they are now back, fresh music for those who recently joined our community and good chance for a new hearing for friends who are part of Loronix since the beginning.

Dulce Nunes is a soulful singer. Unfortunately, she recorded only 3 albums, as explained on my original text below, written in August 2006. Let’s see.

This is Dulce Nunes – Samba do Escritor (1968), for Forma. Dulce Nunes is a Brazilian singer that started her career as an actress in the 50’s. She was married with the pianist Bene Nunes, an active pianist in the 50’s. Together, they had a major participation at Bossa Nova birth, by opening their residence to important Bossa Nova artists.

Samba do Escritor is Dulce Nunes most celebrated accomplishment, featuring all 12 songs composed by Dulce in partnership with renowned Brazilian poetries and writers from that period, such as: Jorge Amado, Mario Quintana, Guimaraes Rosa, among others. Additionally, Samba do Escritor has the participation of Momento Quatro, Edu Lobo, Nara Leao, Joyce and Gracinha Leporato and also landmarks the first Egberto Gismonti engagement as arranger; actually, this is the first Egberto Gismonti record. Highly recommended. Tracks include:

Egberto Gismonti & Nana Vasconcelos - Duo Gismonti & Vasconcellos - JazzBuhrne Berlin (1984)

Hello, good evening! Christmas is over and I hope that everybody had a nice time as I did on these two days with my family. The show must go on and I’m pleased and amazed to repost this album released in the very beginning of Loronix, courtesy of our very good new friend Jacob F. from Israel. This album is very important to Loronix, several others websites placed links to this one, creating a continuous referral of new friends to our community. Let’s see.

This is Egberto Gismonti & Nana Vasconcelos – Duo Gismonti & Vasconcellos | JazzBuhne Berlin (1984), for Repertoire Record and Tapes. If you take a look at the comment section you will see a nice discussion of several friends about this album, which I did not have idea about when first issued with this improvised cover artwork bellow the original one. Jacob F. made it, and now everything is clear, although I could not understand all the inserts provided by Jacob F. written in Germany. Hermeto Pascoal does not perform at this session as I thought he did. My special thanks to Jacob F. for providing this concert in the lossless FLAC format and for also including all CD booklet on a very easy to read PDF format. Tracks include:

Egberto Gismonti
Nana Vasconcellos

01 – Em Familia (Egberto Gismonti)
02 – Danca das Cabecas (Egberto Gismonti)

Publicado em:  Saturday, May 19, 2007 by zecalouro

This 1 Million hits milestone makes me wonder about Loronix beginning, the very first month. Several posts from that month were removed, no special reason, I was just testing things, tuning Loronix and I decided to keep them out. I’m planning to post them back, some of them are really unusual for Loronix, but these are albums that I like a lot and it will be fantastic to show friends some of them.

I’m making now Egberto Gismonti, considered by many friends as a missing piece at Loronix. I got the advice of a very good friend to make this album on a special day and I think this day is today.

This is Egberto Gismonti – Alma (1987), for Odeon. Truly awesome and obscure album by the renowned Brazilian multi-instrumentalist Egberto Gismonti. I could not find Alma listed on major on-line stores, such as Amazon and the gorillas AMG and Artist Direct. Anyway, this is guaranteed entertainment and I hope people can add more information about it, such as personnel and availability. Tracks include:

01 – Baiao Malandro
02 – Palhaco
03 – Loro
04 – Maracatu
05 – Karate
06 – Agua e Vinho
07 – Frevo
08 – Cigana
09 – Ruth
10 – Sanfona
11 – Fala da Paixao
12 – Realejo
13 – 7 Aneis

This is Egberto Gismonti – Alma (1987), at Loronix.  Hope uEnjoy!
