Hello, good evening! I made a small surgery on my left feet this week and this is the reason why Loronix was not updated as usual. Additionally, my mother came to give assistance and make things more complicated as never with several recommendations, lots of things to eat and those really annoying mom’s questions about life that makes we feel really embarrassed.

Among the ups and downs of mom’s visit there is something really good, she is back to contributions and I want to start her small package with the one that we like most, which is the first LP recorded by the Brazilian bandolim virtuoso Deo Rian. Let’s see.

This is Deo Rian – Ernesto Nazareth, Solista: Deo Rian (1970), for RCA Vitor, featuring wonderful renditions of Ernesto Nazareth music played by Deo Rian bandolim with the accompaniment of Quinteto Villa Lobos, Dino 7 Cordas, Canhoto and a not credited strings quartet. This is a magnificent album, not only for the choro fans, but for everyone in the mood of listening Ernesto Nazareth beautiful melodies with really creative arrangements made by a not credited artist.

The back cover brings Deo Rian autography, dedicating this album to Sergio Bittencourt, which is Jacob do Bandolim son. My mother demands that I keep this album available to Deo Rian due this writing at the back cover, which is something that I totally agree. It will be a great pleasure to give this album to Deo Rian as a present from Loronix. Tracks include:

Hello, good evening! Yesterday, we had a collaboration of cvllos that was supposed to be a never heard album by the legendary Casé, but it was only a reissue of a previous Caetano Rodrigues collaboration. You can check the story below at Brazilian Jazz Quartet – Jazz & Coffee (1958). Today, the tireless cvllos quickly recover all his prestige to our community, sending an anthological album, which is the first LP recorded by Maestro Radames Gnattali in 1954, entirely dedicated to the work of another important Brazilian musician, Ernesto Nazareth. Let’s see.

This is Radames Gnattali – Ernesto Nazareth (1954), for Continental, featuring Radames Gnattali piano and orchestra arranged by Radames Gnattali. I’m the past of Brazilian instrumental music to the forthcoming Enciclopédia Instrumental Brasileira website and the contribution of Radames Gnattali becomes very clear every day that passes. In Ernesto Nazareth tribute, the young maestro delivers piano playing and makes arrangements for the entire session. This album should be taken by its historical importance, I decided to keep the transfer as close as possible to the original album and some noise occurs. Thanks cvllos for this important contribution to Loronix. Tracks include:

01 – Expansiva (Ernesto Nazareth) Valsa
02 – Tenebroso (Ernesto Nazareth) Tango
03 – Ameno Resedá (Ernesto Nazareth) Polca-choro
04 – Odeon (Ernesto Nazareth) Tango
05 – Fon-fon (Ernesto Nazareth) Tango
06 – Apanhei-te Cavaquinho (Ernesto Nazareth) Polca-choro
07 – Confidências (Ernesto Nazareth) Valsa
08 – Batuque (Ernesto Nazareth) Tango

Hello, good evening! A friend that left his nick with a nice comment sent this album. However, he did not leave and email and I don’t know if he wants to be identified with the alias he uses. He sent a really nice contribution, the third on the new FLAC format, featuring a very important artist that never had a chance to be introduced to our community, the Brazilian pianist Arthur Moreira Lima. Let’s see.

This is Arthur Moreira Lima – Arthur Moreira Lima Plays Tangos & Waltzes of Ernesto Nazareth (1982), for Intersound, recorded September 13-15, 1982, at the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters on the Steinway CD 372 piano. Thanks to the now revealed AdHoc for this info. Arthur Moreira Lima is worldwide acclaimed as one of the best Frederic Chopin interpreters, being also a successful popular music artist. It is hard to write this in English, Arthur Moreira Lima is the kind of guy that everybody would like to meet in the end of the day at Copacanana to drink some beers, a very cool character and also one of the most renowned tricolores (friends who support Fluminense Football Club, a soccer team in Rio de Janeiro).

His works in the field of popular music includes his association with Paulo Moura, Elomar, Heraldo do Monte, Conjunto Epoca de Ouro, Ney Matogrosso, Rafael Rabello and Ernesto Nazareth, which is a very popular Brazilian composed that had a profound influence on the course of Brazilian music, such like Heitor Villa Lobos. I urge Loronixers to send feedback on this anthological record where once again classical music meets popular music. Tracks include:

01 – Odeon (Ernesto Nazareth)
02 – Escorregando (Ernesto Nazareth)
03 – Duvidoso (Ernesto Nazareth)
04 – Eponina (Ernesto Nazareth)
05 – Batuque (Ernesto Nazareth)
06 – Fon-Fon (Ernesto Nazareth)
07 – Confidencias (Ernesto Nazareth)
08 – Famoso (Ernesto Nazareth)
09 – Mercedes (Ernesto Nazareth)
10 – Vem Ca, Branquinha (Ernesto Nazareth)
11 – Apanhei-te, Cavaquinho (Ernesto Nazareth)
12 – Brejeiro (Ernesto Nazareth)
13 – Bambino (Ernesto Nazareth)
14 – Sarambeque (Ernesto Nazareth)
15 – Carioca (Ernesto Nazareth)
