I’m now the happy owner of the first issue of this legendary Farroupilha album, the first album recorded by the mighty Jongo Trio. This is a repost with several improvements, high quality back and front cover scans, nice vinyl ripping and alternative FLAC files are the improvements. I’m gathering the text I wrote for the first post more than a year ago.

This is Jongo Trio – Jongo Trio (1965), for Farroupilha, the legendary Bossa Nova Jazz combo featuring Saba (bass), Toninho (drums) and Cido (bass), competent musicians with previous collaborations with Pedrinho Mattar, Manfredo Fest and others. Jongo Trio have backed up Baden Powell on his early recordings, Elis Regina and also made several participations on other artists albums and live recordings. After releasing this album, they made an hiatus of five years, being back on recordings in 1970, 1972 and recently for Diebold, a fantastic album produced by our great Loronix friend Joao Samuel. Tracks include:

I’m thrilled. If you Google these three words “jongo trio diebold” you will find no results. If you search for Jongo Trio at Superfly Records, PopSike, eBay, Gemm, Mercado Livre, etc. you will find regular Jongo Trio releases, but not this one. If you search info for this obscure lable Diebold, your searches will fail. This is just to make you understand what Caetano sent to Loronixers, an album of the legendary Jongo Trio that is probably unknown by everybody. In my humble opinion, this is the best album released by Jongo Trio ever. Only Caetano can make it. Just Loronix toi show it.This is Jongo Trio – Jongo Trio (no date), for Diebold, little is known about this album, however, Caetano said that only 500 copies were made to a given company in Brazil. We can see by this very simple cover that we have a “reduced” production here, but the music is superb and the recording is CD quality. Self-explanatory. I’m making available a music video with Dick Farney with two Jongo Trio members, Toninho and Saba. They perform Tereza da Praia on a very cool video sent by Luiz Harding on another great job. Do not miss. Tracks include:

Here is another cool record sent by Caetano Rodrigues to Loronixers, Bossa 12 Vezes (1965), for Farroupilha, mixing four different artists – really different – on a single LP, featuring, Jongo Trio, Leny Eversong, Conjunto Farroupilha and Bobby Mackay (completely unknown to zecalouro). Refer, if you can assist us on Bobby Mackay, we appreciate.

Have you ever stop to think how many good records were released in 1965? What a year! I like statistics and I think that it would be very interest if someone makes to Loronixers some kind of Loronix albums per year chart. I’m quite sure that we will see 1965 taking the lead over the other years. Tracks include:

01 – A Resposta (Marcos Valle / Paulo Sergio Valle) – Conjunto Farroupilhas
02 – Aleluia (Edu Lobo / Ruy Guerra) – Leny Eversong
03 – Seu Chopin Desculpe (Johnny Alf) – Jongo Trio
04 – Bossa Nova (I Say) (B. Mackay / J. Bradford) – Bobby Mackay
05 – Samba Internacional (Sidney Morais) – Conjunto Farroupilhas
06 – Arrastão (Edu Lobo / Vinicius de Moraes) – Leny Eversong
07 – Ela Vai Ela Vem (Roberto Menescal / Ronaldo Bôscoli) – Jongo Trio
08 – Cool Cool Samba (J. Bradford / R. Simpson) – Bobby Mackay
09 – Rio Rio (Francisco de Assis Bezerra de Menezes) – Conjunto Farroupilhas
10 – Gangazuma (Carlos Cruz / Almeida Rego) – Leny Eversong
11 – Garota Moderna (Evaldo Gouveia / Jair Amorim) – Jongo Trio
12 – The Girl From Sout Zone (Balanço Zona Sul) (Tito Madi / Vrs. B. Mackay / Vrs. D. Gordon) – Bobby Mackay

.

Não tinha este disco.  Porém, graças aos amigos bOssas nOvas e Martoni, ele hoje está disponível na Rádio Forma e Elenco.

Hello friends! This LP is unique, Primeiro Tempo: 5 x 0 featuring Claudette Soares, Taiguara and Jongo Trio, produced by Ronaldo Boscoli and directed by Boscoli and Mieli in 1966. This is probably one of the first recordings of a very early Taiguara, later on a renowned artist.

This show was presented live with no interruption during three years in Rio de Janeiro. Today, this is a rare and very hard to find LP. Tracks include:

01 – Abertura – Samba tempo ( Marcos Vasconcellos – Pingarrilho)
02 – Canto de Ossanha (Baden Powell – Vinicius de Moraes)
03 – Tempo (Mieli – Ronaldo Bôscoli) – A banca do destino (Billy Blanco)
04 – Tempo de humor (talk) – Civilização (Pingarrilho – Marcos Vasconcellos)
05 – Pra você (Silvio César) – Preciso aprender a ser só (Marcos Valle – Paulo Sergio Valle) – Estrada do sol (Tom Jobim – Dolores Duran)
06 – Mila (Roberto Menescal – Ronaldo Bôscoli)
07 – Tristeza (Haroldo Lobo – Niltinho)
08 – Soneto da separação (Vinicius de Moraes) – Apêlo (Baden Powell – Vinicius de Moraes)
09 – Tempo de humor (talk)
10 – Por um amor maior (Ruy Guerra – Francis Hime)
11 – Tempo de 5 X 0 (talk) – Samba do carioca (Carlos Lyra – Vinicius de Moraes)
