Copacabana M-908

Hello, good evening! I made consistent progress on creating the strategy of old post’s reconstruction. That was the reason of my absence yesterday. It is important to set up procedures to make the work easy and organized, with little errors, so that everyone can participate. I am doing what I can to document the procedures to engage the community, but I believe that one more day of refinement would be required. I will keep you posted.

The show must go on and this post is all about entertainment blending Brazilian music and soccer (futebol), very close associated. Let’s see.

This is Temas das Copas do Mundo 1958 e 1970 (1970), for Copacabana, a single, featuring the themes of 1958 and 1970 World Cup, won by Brazil in Sweden and Mexico respectively. I believe that all the friends of Brazil know how to sing these songs by heart, especially the second, released in commemoration of the third Brazilian championship. I’m making available a documentary of the 1970 World Cup final match with Brazil and Italy, a must for those who love soccer, featuring Pelé, Jairzinho, Tostão, Rivelino and other renowned soccer players. Tracks include:

01 – Pra Frente Brazil (Miguel Gustavo) with Coral de Joab
02 – A Taca do Mundo e Nossa (Mau / Dag / Lau) with Titulares do Ritmo

Hello, good evening! Teatro Paramount in Sao Paulo is part of Bossa Nova history. In the early 60’s, Walter Silva – also known as Pica-Pau, produced a series of concerts featuring renowned Brazilian artists that were very successful. Most of these performances were recorded and later released by RGE on 30 Anos de Bossa Nova series, featuring ten albums with five of these concerts produced by Walter Silva. Os Grandes Sucessos do Paramount is not a live recording of a given day, but a compilation organized by Walter Silva featuring the best moments of those days. Let’s see.

This is Os Grandes Sucessos do Paramount (1965), for RGE, with recordings from Teatro Paramount Bossa Nova concerts from 1964 and 1965. Two of these five albums with Teatro Paramount sessions are already available at Loronix, O Fino da Bossa (1964) and A Bossa no Paramount (1965), being this one my favorite. Alayde Costa and Titulares do Ritmo opens the record with an “a capella” performance of Onde Esta Voce (Oscar Castro Neves / Luvercy Fiorini) that worth the entire album. The remaining performers are listed bellow, with highlights to Walter Santos, Oscar Castro Neves Noneto, Zimbo Trio, Bossa Jazz Trio… Better stop to do not revel complete performers listing. This post is making anniversary today, it was first released one year ago and there are several reasons for this reposting, this is an amazing album, recorded by a renowned vocal group that recorded several albums throughout decades. For those reasons that we cannot explain, I have been searching for another album during this whole year and I could not find a single LP. Perhaps now, bringing this one to the front page, some Loronix friend can help us on finding another album from Os Titulares do Ritmo. Many friends request them. Let’s see.

This is Os Titulares do Ritmo – Os Titulares do Ritmo Interpretam Antonio Carlos Jobim e Vinicius de Moraes (1973), for Continental. Os Titulares do Ritmo were assembled in the early 40’s having a very active career that lasts until the late 90’s, both on recording and live performances. Os Titulares do Ritmo are a vocal and instrumental sextet, created in 1941 at a college, a institution in Minas Gerais for visually impaired people, all six members of Os Titulares do Ritmo are blind.

This beautiful tribute to Antonio Carlos Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes LP has the participation of Maestro Luiz Arruda Paes as instrumental arranger, while Os Titulares do Ritmo are in charge of vocal arrangements, very professional and sophisticated arrangements, by the way. I think you should not miss this one, even if you have already visited the original post, we have major upgrades on cover scans and music, including the FLAC files option. Tracks include:
