Os Cariocas - Minha Namorada

Hello, good evening! I found this album on one of those old vinyl shops in Rio, and I always thought it was just a compilation with tracks taken from previous albums. If I knew this is the first album recorded by Os Cariocas after a 21 years hiatus, I would have made it available at Loronix earlier. Minha Namorada features a repertoire with the greatest Os Cariocas tunes. The cover brings autographs of each component, where Quartera signs in place of Luiz Roberto, who unfortunately died in this period. Confirmation is needed, but I believe this album was signed by Os Cariocas after the tragic Luiz Roberto passing. Let’s see.

This is Os Cariocas – Minha Namorada (1990), for Som Livre. It is unbelievable this album is out of print. The recording quality is amazing and I really recommend that you take good headphones to hear the sophisticated vocal arrangements made by Severino Filho. Os Cariocas is really a unique and very special vocal group. Tracks include:

Personnel

Severino Filho
(piano, 1st voice, arrangements)
Badeco
(violao, 2nd voice)
Luiz Roberto
(bass, 3rd voice)
Quartera
(drums, 4th voice)

Track List

01 – Minha Namorada (Carlos Lyra / Vinicius de Moraes)
02 – Samba do Avião (Tom Jobim)
03 – Tema Para Lúcia (Severino Filho)
04 – Samba da Pergunta (Pingarilho / Marcos Vasconcellos)

08 – Preciso Aprender a Ser Só (Marcos Valle / Paulo Sergio Valle)
09 – Samba de Verão (Marcos Valle / Paulo Sergio Valle)

Os Cariocas - Mais Bossa Com Os Cariocas-Back

How I like this album! And I’m sad to know it is time to send it back to his owner, which is our friend Jose Matos and his last contribution of a small and really solid set including the previous released Luiz Carlos Vinhas – Novas Estruturas and the acclaimed Lenita Bruno – Por Toda a Minha Vida, with participation of Maestro Leo Peracchi. Jose Matos is also a great vinyl keeper, Mais Bossa com Os Cariocas was released in 1963 and his copy is near mint. Let’s see.

This is Os Cariocas – Mais Bossa com Os Cariocas (1963), for Philips, featuring Os Cariocas second LP for Philips on their glory Bossa Nova years, where six albums where released from 1962 until 1967. Several Bossa Nova tunes were recorded on these six albums and most of them are still considered the best renditions of most of these songs. My highlight goes to the track listed at Loronix Preview Center 01 – Telefone (Roberto Menescal / Ronaldo Boscoli). Tracks include:

Personnel

Severino Filho
(piano, arrangements, vocal)
Badeco
(violao, vocal)
Luiz Roberto
(bass, vocal)
Quartera
(drums, vocal)

Track List

01 – Telefone (Roberto Menescal / Ronaldo Bôscoli)
02 – Vamos amar (Marcos Valle / Edu Lobo)
03 – Cartão de visita (Carlos Lyra / Vinícius de Moraes)
04 – Vivo sonhando (Tom Jobim)
05 – O céu é você (Luiz Berria / Maria Helena Toledo)
06 – Amorzinho diferente (Durval Ferreira / Luis Fernando Freire)
07 – Tem dó (Baden Powell / Vinícius de Moraes)
08 – Amor de nada (Marcos Valle / Paulo Sergio Valle)
09 – Ela é carioca (Tom Jobim / Vinicius de Moraes)
10 – Também quem mandou (Carlos Lyra / Vinícius de Moraes)
11 – Insensatez (Tom Jobim / Vinicius de Moraes)
12 – Só quis você (Roberto Menescal / Ronaldo Bôscoli)

Os Cariocas - Os Cariocas a Ismael Netto

Hello, good evening! This is Os Cariocas debut LP, released by Columbia in 1957 and one of the first albums made available in the very first beginning of Loronix. It is a very important Brazilian popular music album, released one year after the premature death of Os Cariocas founder and main leader, Ismael Neto, brother of Severino Filho, leader of the group since then. Ismael Neto passing is the reason of this beautiful and moving cover, featuring Hortensia, sister of Ismael Neto and Severino Filho. Os Cariocas a Ismael Neto is another great Jorge Mello contribution, whom I thank for the opportunity to bring back Os Cariocas to the first page with a major update on music and cover scans. Let’s see.

This is Os Cariocas – Os Cariocas a Ismael Neto (1957), for Columbia, featuring 12 Ismael Netto compositions and original voice and instrumental arrangements by Ismael Neto. Most of these songs are now standards, including my favorites Ultimo Beijo, Valsa de Uma Cidade and Madrugada 3,05. Loronix Preview Center features Ultimo Beijo, highlighting Hortensia vocals. Tracks include:

Os Cariocas

Severino Filho
Badeco
Quartera
Valdir Prado Viviani
Hortensia

Track List

01 – Marca na Parede (Ismael Netto / Márcio Faccini)
02 – Afinal (Ismael Netto / Luis Bittencourt)
03 – Se Teus Olhos Dissessem (Ismael Netto / Jairo Argileo)
04 – Último Beijo (Ismael Netto / Nestor de Hollanda)
05 – Se Alguém Disser (Ismael Netto / Reinaldo Dias Leme)
06 – Canção da Volta (Ismael Netto / Antônio Maria)
07 – Valsa de Uma Cidade (Ismael Netto / Antônio Maria)
08 – Disse o Que Eu Queria (Ismael Netto / Antônio Maria)

Os Cariocas - O Melhor de Os Cariocas (1989)Os Cariocas - O Melhor de Os Cariocas (1989)-BACK

Hello, good evening! We were informed by cvllos that Jedir Pimentel has passed today. Jedir Pimentel had a major participation on bringing Os Cariocas together on a recording studio after an hiatus of 24 years, started with their last release for Philips in 1966, until the first after many years, in 1990 for Som Livre, Minha Namorada. This is Loronix tribute for Jedir Pimental and his passion to Os Cariocas and Brazilian music.

This is Os Cariocas – O Melhor de Os Cariocas (1989), for Philips, featuring “the best of” Os Cariocas on their Philips years, four albums, being the first released at 1963, and the last in 1965. For reasons that I could not check, O Melhor de Os Cariocas does not includes their last Philips release, Arte / Vozes (1966). Anyway, if those albums are fantastic alone, a compilation with remastered songs taken from them should be really worth checking. Tracks include:

OS CARIOCAS

Severino Filho
(piano, instrumental and vocal arrangements, vocals)
Badeco
(violao, vocals)
Quarteta
(drums, vocals)
Luiz Roberto
(bass, vocals)

Track List

03 – Amanhecendo
04 – Vivo Sonhando

Hello, good evening! I cannot remember how many times I watched this video today, recorded using the broadcast of the Brazilian movie Barnabe, Tu Es Meu (1952), aired on a cable TV channel a couple of weeks ago. This film was aired at 7 o’clock in the morning and I decided to record using that auto program feature of my VCR and I forgot to check it and I could not believe when I took it for a hearing today. Let’s see.

This is Os Cariocas – O Meu Caso e Mulher (1952), from the movie Barnabe, Tu Es Meu, featuring Severino Filho, Badeco, Jorge Quartera, Waldir Viviani, Ismael Netto and a singer that I could not identify. I hope that Loronixers can make it, but my options are Adelaide Chiozzo or Emilinha Borba. This is a very old and truly awesome Os Cariocas video and you should not skip it.

Hope uEnjoy!

Hello, good evening! We are opening this Friday night with a truly amazing album. You should believe me. Before any other thing, two warnings are necessary, as follows: 1) In spite of the word “Dancas” at the album title, this is NOT a regular “Para Dancar” album, actually, by definition, this is not “Para Dancar” music. 2) Do not take it as an album recorded by Maestro Severino Araujo from Orquestra Tabajara, it is a very common mistake.

In the other hand, if you are not aware, Maestro Severino Filho is the leader of the Brazilian vocal group Os Cariocas, one of the greatest Brazilian musicians ever, still active with Os Cariocas since the foundation in 1942. I never heard about this album before and it is a great surprise since we have the participation of Os Cariocas. Let’s see.

This is Severino Filho e Sua Orquestra de Dancas – Rio de Janeiro, Gosto de Voce (1958), for Polydor, featuring an orchestra conduced and arranged by Maestro Severino Filho with the participation of Os Cariocas in a couple of tracks. This album was released 49 years ago and the recording quality is really amazing. Severino Filho e Sua Orquestra de Dancas features a not credited vibraphone player that delivers a wonderful job on top of overwhelming orchestra arrangements by Maestro Severino Filho. I urge Loronixers to send feedback on this delicious to hear LP. Tracks include:

01 – Despedida de Mangueira (Benedito Lacerda / Aldo Cabral)
02 – Palpite Infeliz (Noel Rosa)
03 – Rio de Janeiro (Ary Barroso)
04 – Valsa de Uma Cidade (Ismael Netto / Antônio Maria)
05 – Copacabana (Alberto Ribeiro / João de Barro)
06 – Cidade Maravilhosa (André Filho)
07 – Madureira Chorou (Carvalhinho / Julio Monteiro)
08 – O Bonde de São Januário (Ataulfo Alves / Wilson Batista)
09 – A Lapa (Herivelto Martins / Benedito Lacerda)
10 – Eu Vou Pra Vila (Noel Rosa)
11 – Fantasia Carioca (Alcyr Pires Vermelho / Osvaldo Santiago)
12 – Vai Com Jeito (João de Barro)

.

Next time I get together with TNO, I will not forget to ask how he makes such nice 78rpm transfers to Loronixers. This one is really special, no background noise, nothing jeopardizing this beautiful 78rpm recorded by Os Cariocas in 1952 for RCA Victor. Such as TNO, Os Cariocas always surprise me. Nice little record that I strong recommend.

This is Os Cariocas | 78rpm – RCA Victor 800979 (1952), featuring two songs performed by this fantastic Brazilian vocal group. Tracks include:

01 – Leviana – Bolero (Bororo)
02 – Comigo e Assim – Choro (Ze Menezes / Luiz Bittencourt)

I’m finishing today with a mandatory repost, requested by many friends. The last album had problems, including a missing track. zecalouro’s mother spent a time today here and brought this album. You should thank her; she is a great finder sometimes. The music and cover artwork are upgraded, including FLAC files alternative. I will keep part of my original writing to keep the reference to the legendary JimR, he asked for this album in the first hour he came to our community.

This is Os Cariocas – Passaporte (1966), for Polydor, in attention of a new Loronixer from the United States, JimR, a serious Bossa Nova collector. He asked for Passaporte as the only one missing from his Os Cariocas collection. Passaporte landmarks the last LP before the group went to a recording hiatus of long 24 years, interrupted in 1990 with the with the recording of a CD, Minha Namorada. Tracks include:

Me cansei
Do calipso

A morena vai sambar

E a estrela Vênus

I think friends are getting used as I’m used to these 78rpm releases, original scheduled to be a once in a week feature and now part of daily Loronix business as usual. It is very nice to show these albums and also very easy. As we are starting, there is always an opportunity to show a never released artist in the format and I’m trying to make only great names at this beginning, such as Os Cariocas.

This is Os Cariocas – 78rpm | 15893 (1948), for Copacabana, a very old record featuring on side A, Nova Ilusao and a classic tune on side B, Adeus America. I think this one will be the most popular among the 78-rpm released so far. Tracks include:

01 – Noa Ilusao (Jose Menezes / Luiz Bittencourt)
02 – Adeus America (Geraldo Jacques / Haroldo Barbosa)
.

Yesterday’s III Loronix Singles Festival had no feedback, perhaps I need to fine tune my picks and that’s what I’m trying to accomplish with the III Loronix EP Festival, featuring two artists with great popularity among Loronixers. Let’s see.

This is Os Cariocas – Os Cariocas de Quatrocentas Bossas (1965), for Philips, the “reduced” version of the homonymous LP, one of the Os Cariocas albums that I like most and one of the nicest covers so far at Loronix. Tracks include:

01 – Preciso Aprender a Ser So (Marcos Valle / Paulo Sergio Valle)
02 – Sabe Voce (Carlos Lyra / Vinicius de Moraes)
03 – Gente (Marcos Valle / Paulo Sergio Valle)
04 – Carro de Boi (Mauricio Tapajos / Antonio Carlos de Brito)

Now we are going with four Elis Regina records in a row, one EP and three singles, as follows:

This is Elis Regina – Elis Regina (1971), EP, for Philips, with arrangements by Cesar Carmargo Mariano with tracks taken from ELIS (1971). Tracks include:

01 – Osanah
02 – Nada Sera Como Antes
03 – A Filha de Chico Bento
04 – Casa no Campo

This is Elis Regina – Elis Regina (1965), single, for Philips, featuring Arrastao, winner of I Festival de Musica Popular Brasileira. Tracks include:

01 – Arrastao
02 – Aleluia

This is Elis Regina – Elis Regina (1966), single, for Philips, featuring Saveiros and Canto Triste from I Festival Internacional da Cancao Popular. Tracks include:

01 – Saveiros
02 – Canto Triste

This is the great close with the one that I like most, a single, recorded live at Teatro Record, Sao Paulo. Tracks include:

01 – Canto de Ossanha
02 – Rosa Morena

.

Hello, Good Evening! This is now the zecalouro all time favorite LP. He went nuts listening to it. It is a challenge to him listening to Os Cariocas using voice as instruments. Fantastic. zecalouro spent the whole day trying to do the same saying several pa-ra-pa-pa-pas. Tomorrow I will make it again. For the latecomers, it is not myself, I’m talking about the parrot, my pet, Loronix mascot.

This is Orquestra Pan American – Samba Internacional (1959), for Musidisc, another fine Orquestra Pan American (sometimes credited as Pan American Orchestra), which is Os Cariocas with some sisters of Severino Filho. Samba Internacional repeats the formula used on previous releases, nice cover artwork, repertoire selection, orchestra and Os Cariocas vocalization. Personnel is not credited this time. Tracks include:

01 – Apito no Samba (Luis Bandeira)
02 – Smoke Gets In Your Eyes (J. Kern / O. Harbach)
03 – Besame Mucho (Consuelo Velasquez)
04 – É Luxo Só (Ary Barroso / Luis Peixoto)
05 – Granada (Agustin Lara)
06 – What Is This Thing Called Love (Cole Porter)
07 – Blue Moon (Hart / Rodgers)
08 – Samba Maravilhoso (José Toledo / Jean Manzon)
09 – Solamente Una Vez (Agustin Lara)
10 – Chega de Saudade (Tom Jobim / Vinicius de Moraes)
11 – Over The Rainbow (Harold Arlen / E. Y. Harburg)
12 – La Cumparsita (M. Rodriguez / P. Contursi / E. Maroni)

We cannot go wrong with this album, sent two months ago by a non-identified collaborator. Don’t let the cover artwork cheats you; this is not a compilation that can be evaluated at a first sight. Let’s see what we have inside.

This is Os Cariocas – Mestres da MPB (1994), for Warner Music. Mestres da MBP was a series of compilations released by Warner to take advantage of the CD age by remastering old analogy tapes to digital format. Everybody asks me to gather the old Os Cariocas 78 rpm recordings, but they are quite impossible to find and this post address this issue bringing some remastered songs released on those recordings. This cover artworks is also of not showing Os Cariocas as a quintet, instead of the usual quartet formation. Thanks collaborator for the nice cover scans and autographs. Tracks include:

Luiz Harding sent to us what I consider the first Os Cariocas solo video at Loronix. It is delicious to hear their performances, but it is really better to watch them singing. I don’t have idea when this clip was recorded, but it is really beautiful. It was nice to see when they move the microphone away to change volumes of the vocalizations, really amazing. This is Os Cariocas – Ela e Carioca.

Os Cariocas – Os Cariocas (1963)

Caetano will think I’m crazy when we looking this post. A very strong post, but not planned. The reason of change you will know today with the closing post. Caetano should agree with the change and support this decision. Loronixers will stand at their offices, excited with today’s last post. Don’t sleep. Actually, I will cross the night with eyes opened.

Anyway, one of the most frequent questions made by new Loronixers is “What should I take first since I’m not used to Bossa Nova and Brazilian Music”. This is a very hard question that I use to skip on answering. I think this album should address this answer very well, giving a chance to starters to get in touch and also amaze the grownups with another wonderful and very hard to find release powered by the great Caetano Rodrigues (reading my text you should realize how zeca is excited with the last post).

This is Os Cariocas – Os Cariocas (1963), for Columbia, a compilation of the early works of the renowned Brazilian vocal group Os Cariocas, featuring songs of the first LP, Os Cariocas – Os Cariocas a Ismael Neto (1958), A Bossa dos Cariocas, released at the same 1963 year and probably songs extracted from singles, EPs or early 78rpm. This cover artwork is also fantastic, showing a girl wearing a t-shirt with Copacabana mosaic under a black background, really unique. Tracks include:

01 – Valsa de Uma Cidade
02 – Se Alguém Disser
03 – Madrugada 3 05
04 – Disse o Que Eu Queria
05 – Me Dá Me Dá
06 – Canção da Volta
07 – Chega de Saudade
08 – Menina Feia
09 – É Gostoso Beijar
10 – Vem Pra Batucada
11 – Se Teus Olhos Dissessem
12 – Seu Nome Não É Maria

Orquestra Pan American – Star Dust (1959) with Os Cariocas

Here we go on another amazing Caetano Rodrigues contribution to Loronix. This is essentially an instrumental orchestra album with a choir using voice as and instrument. Taken this introduction and the cover artwork that alone worth the admission, I would be willing to check it out. However, the choir is the legendary Coral Oito Vozes, which is Os Cariocas, plus three Severino Araujo sisters and Odaléa.

This is Orquestra Pan American – Star Dust (1959), for Musidisc. Nilo Sergio – Musidisc owner – demonstrates once again that he was a little bit ahead of time, gathering Os Cariocas under the name of Orquestra Pan American to release this album. Musicians on the set are not credited but the eight voices choir worth to be listed apart, just before tracks. Tracks include:

PersonnelOs Cariocas
Severino Filho
Badeco
Quartera
Luiz Roberto

Hortencia
Jurema
Gloria
Odaléa

Track List

01 – Paradise (G. Clifford / N. H. Brown)
02 – I’m In The Mood For Love (J. McHugh / D. Fields)
03 – Brigas Nunca Mais (Tom Jobim / Vinicius de Moraes)
04 – Temptation (N. H. Brown / A. Freed)
05 – Pode Implorar (Nilo Sergio / Sebastião Fonseca)
06 – I Cried For You (A. Freed / G. Arnheim / A. Lyman)
07 – Again (L. Newman / D. Cochran)
08 – Piove (Modugno / Verde)

When this current Caetano’s package was being prepared, we have been speaking about the selection and Caetano, as always, prepared some surprises that are only revealed to me by the time I receive everything by mail. Caetano said sometimes to be sending a record called “O Melhor de Os Cariocas”. I always answered that it was a great choice, having in mind Caetano was sending some sort of compilation as the title suggests.

I was wrong, once again. Caetano will read this text with a smile on his face, since he could really knock me down with this album.

Attention, do not let the cover cheat you. This is not a compilation or one of those “The Best of” records, Caetano shows us a career album from us Cariocas, so obscure that I never heard about and probably many fans of Os Cariocas will be really surprised when reaching Loronix.

This is Os Cariocas – O Melhor de Os Cariocas (1958), for Columbia. Little is known about this album, so I will tell what I think we have here. Perhaps this is the first and only Os Cariocas album with English lyrics, not all tunes. You can see beautiful colored letters on cover building the name “Os Cariocas”, however, some reviewers and websites takes Severino Filho as the main performer, which is something with a little importance, since Severino Filho is a member of Os Cariocas. There is one thing I’m sure, we should send many thanks to Caetano Rodrigues for sending this album to Loronixers. I know many Os Cariocas fans that will make their day. Thanks Caetano for gathering the “impossible” to our community. Tracks include:

01. Chega de Saudade (Tom Jobim / Vinicius de Moraes)
02. Chá-chá-chá Baiano (Getúlio Macedo)
03. É Gostoso Beijar (Severino Filho / Alberto Paz)
04. Born Too Late (F. Tobias / C. Strouse)
05. Marca na Parede (Ismael Netto / Mário Faccini)
06. Always And Forever (K. Millet / J. Gold)
07. Valsa de Uma Cidade (Ismael Netto / Antônio Maria)
08. Quem É (Oldemar Magalhães / Osmar Navarro)
09. Afinal (Ismael Netto / Luis Bittencourt)
10. Samba Rock (B. Moore / Reg Simpson / J. Bradford)
11. Menina Feia (Oscar Castro Neves / Luvercy Fiorini)
12. Menina (Édson Borges / De Castro)
13. Silhouettes (F. C. Slay Jr. / B. Crewe)
14. Madrugada 3 05 (Ismael Netto / Antônio Maria / Reinaldo Dias Leme)

Hello, Good Night! Another hot night, hot as the last 30 days in Rio de Janeiro. Today is the thirty-day with no rain. Life changes without the rain. Rio de Janeiro is one of a few selected cities in the world that has a forest inside the urban area, the famous Floresta da Tijuca. With no rain, fire starts easy and every time on Floresta da Tijuca, burning nature and killing birds and other species as well. The weather forecasts rain to this weekend. We should be also prepared to cope with this rain. Let’s start today with a Mr. W. contribution, showing one the most loved Bossa Nova vocal group that has not be released for a while.

This is Os Cariocas – A Bossa dos Cariocas (1963), for Philips, a very early Os Cariocas, released five years after their first album, Os Cariocas a Ismael Netto (1958), featuring Quartera, Badeco, Luis and Severino Filho. Thanks Mr. W. for this one. If you are Os Cariocas fan, stay tuned. Caetano Rodrigues is preparing a nice surprise to Loronixers that is all about Os Cariocas. Tracks include:

01 – Pra Que Chorar (Baden Powell / Vinicius de Moraes)
02 – Rio (Roberto Menescal / Ronaldo Bôscoli)
03 – Garota de Ipanema (Tom Jobim / Vinicius de Moraes)
04 – Anjinho Bossa Nova (Silvino Júnior / Wilson Tirapelli)

People, have a seat to another fantastic LP by the great Caetano Rodrigues. We have been preparing this post for more than a couple of days and Caetano – with some zecalouro influence – has decided that today is the right day. First, let’s take a special attention to the story behind this post.

Picture yourself in Rio de Janeiro, 1964, the Golden Bossa Nova years. Tamba Trio has just released his third LP for Philips, Tempo. CBD executives, together with Mrs. Stella Marinho from O Globo newspaper, decided to make a partnership to work together on a charity initiative called “Ajude uma Crianca a Estudar”, to collect funds and help child education.

The initiative was launched with a cocktail at Leme Palace Hotel, followed by a concert at Jornal O Globo, “E Tempo de Musica Moderna”, directed by Armando Pittigliani. Philips selected the best available at the cast to perform the show: Copa Trio, Luiz Henrique, Os Cariocas, Rosana Toledo, Jorge Ben and Tamba Trio.

This is E Tempo de Musica Popular Moderna – Varios Artistas (1964), for Philips, with an interesting fact, this is probably the only recording featuring the legendary Copa Trio, with Dom Salvador (piano), Edison Machado (drums) and Sergio Barroso (bass). Copa Trio starts the gig and backs up the remaining artists on the set, Luiz Henrique, Os Cariocas, Rosana Toledo and Jorge Ben. Tamba Trio closes the party with four tunes.

At the end of the concert, people could buy Tamba Trio – Tempo to help children. What amazing day. Who was there? If any friend had the chance to attend this historical concert, please tell us how it was. The track list has 12 songs, I decided to create single tracks for each artist just to be convenient and do not break each one performances. Mario Luiz from Radio Globo, makes nice introductions hosting the show. Tracks include.

Copa Trio
Meu Fraco e Cafe Forte

Os Cariocas – Os Cariocas de Quatrocentas Bossas (1965)

This LP is a missing piece even to long time Bossa Nova collectors, really. I cannot count how many times Os Cariocas – Os Cariocas de Quatrocentas Bossas (1965), for Philips, was requested, but I’m sure that many friends were waiting for this release.

Os Cariocas de 400 Bossas is an important milestone to Os Cariocas career, being the first LP to have a great acceptance by the public and media. I’m not sure of what the four hundred means, but it seems to be a reference of the 400th anniversary of Rio de Janeiro City. I will do my best being a good bird and I hope to see the 500th anniversary of this amazing city with the age of 100 years old. Tracks include:

PS.: This cover is outstanding, simple and efficient. Philips is gradually taking my preference on cover artworks, the last Quinteto Violado release also had a nice Philips cover.

01 – Preciso Aprender a Ser Só (Paulo Sergio Valle / Marcos Valle)
02 – Veja Lá (Baden Powell / Luis Fernando Freire)
03 – Sabe Você (Carlos Lyra / Vinicius de Moraes)
04 – Vê (Roberto Menescal / Luis Fernando Freire)
05 – Rio 1800 (Roberto Menescal / Ronaldo Bôscoli)
06 – Carro de Boi (Maurício Tapajós / Antônio Carlos de Brito)
07 – Exaltação à Mangueira (Enéas Brites da Silva / Aloísio Augusto da Costa) — Copacabana (João de Barro / Alberto Ribeiro) — Valsa de Uma Cidade (Ismael Netto / Antônio Maria)
08 – A Paz do Homem Só (Roberto Menescal / Ronaldo Bôscoli)
09 – Gente (Marcos Valle / Paulo Sergio Valle)
10 – Jôgo do Navio (Zé Rosendo)

Hello! Let’s start the day great with another Caetano Rodrigues contribution to Loronix. This record is always taken by mistake as an Os Cariocas album, probably by the great identification of Severino Filho with Os Cariocas. Severino filho was founder and member of os Cariocas during all phases, leading the group since the passing of his brother, Ismael Netto.

Severino Filho is a pianist and is also responsible for Os Cariocas vocal arrangements. This is Orquestra e Coral de Severino Filho – Metais e Vozes em Festival (1963), similar to the last release of Orquestra Pan American, which also had the participation of Os Cariocas.

Personnel include, Coral Oito Vozes, which is Os Cariocas as Severino Filho, Badeco, Quartera and Luiz Roberto plus Hortencia, Jurema, Gloria and Odaléa. Hortencia, Jurema and Gloria are sisters of Severino Filho and Ismael Neto. This is a unique orchestra LP selected by Caetano Rodrigues to Loronixers.
