In the beginning of the year, January 14, we made available an album recorded by an artist that I never heard about, Marcos Moran – Transamba (1978)with accompaniment by Samba Som Sete. Since then, I received many emails with friends requesting more Marcos Moran as an extremely groovy artist and a great Samba interpreter. Let’s see if we will have the same hype with this one, with Marcos Moran performing solo.This is Marcos Moran – As Brasileirissimas Vol. 2 (1978), for Polydor, released five years after the earlier and successful Transamba. Marcos Moran does not count with any identified support band as he did in the last release. The arrangements are in charge of Sergio Carvalho, Laercio de Freitas e Ivan Paulo. Personnel is not credited, probably studio musicians were used. Brasileirissimas Vol. 2 makes a panorama of successful tunes from the 70’s mixing Samba, romantic music, MPB and others. Let’s play with Samba at Loronix, at least what zecalouro thinks it is pure Samba and not Samba with Bossa Nova or Jazz flavor. This LP came from one of those file sharing programs we have available at the Internet, so I cannot give the appropriate credits to the friend that make it available. It is so nice, bossanovadreamer said that he heard a single track of this artist and it is great. Anyway, everything lead to this post, why not make it?

This is Marcos Moran e Samba Som Sete – Transamba (1973), for Caravelle, with the participation of Silvia e Sandra (probably a duet) and Jadir de Castro, which you had the chance to see a couple of weeks ago at Loronix. This is a perfect Samba record from the early 70’s, such like the ones made by Antonio Carlos & Jocafi, Tom & Dito and others. Samba Som Sete makes the accompaniment, resulting in what people use to call a “groovy” record. I’m quite sure this should be a surprising release for many friends. Tracks include:
