exclusivamente brasil (1980) front

Hello, good evening! This is an unscheduled post. Sarah Vaughan was recently released a couple of days ago and I was waiting for a few weeks before taking this one in consideration. However, every road leads to Sarah Vaughan today. My mother came here today and showed great curiosity to hear the last, O Som Brasileiro de Sarah Vaughan. Everybody knows my mother is a great fan of Brazilian divas of the last century, but such like me; she has a very limited knowledge of international singers. I decided to take O Som de Sarah Vaughan for a spin and she got really amazed, deciding to stay additional hours until this one gets finished.

It was one of those perfect days. My mother took her way home hearing this album, naturally, my best choice for tonight. Let’s see.

This is Sarah Vaughan – Exclusivamente Brasil (1980), for Philips, featuring the guitar of Helio Delmiro, a gifted musician that I never had the chance to make before at Loronix. Helio Delmiro has a really special participation here, which includes his picture at the front cover and a whole track, 04 – Vivo Sonhando (Dreamer) (Antonio Carlos Jobim). Personnel listing was credited by Philips and features Aloysio de Oliveira as producer with arrangements by Maestro Edson Frederico. Tracks include:

CAPA

Hello, good evening! I would like to make clear all the difficulties I have to make such music. My musical knowledge is very limited, especially when I leave the safe terrain of Brazilian music. I think I never have something to add on top of what you probably already know. As a matter of fact, Loronix slogan says “Music from Brazil”, which represents the music that comes from Brazil, even if it is presented by foreign artists and musicians.

This disc is an example. It has Brazil inside and was recorded by one of the best singers ever known. Definitely, it could not be out of our collection. It has only Brazilian musicians, including a special participation of Maestro Antonio Carlos Jobim. Let’s see.

This is Sarah Vaughan – O Som Brasileiro de Sarah Vaughan (1978), for RCA, featuring Sarah Vaughan renditions of well-known Brazilian classics written by Antonio Carlos Jobim, Milton Nascimento, Durval Ferreira, Marcos Valle, Dorival Caymmi, among others. I’m really impressed by the way Sarah Vaughan sings. Tracks include:

Luiz Harding sent to Loronixers two nice videos of international artists performing Brazilian music. The first video was a surprise, Joe Williams, what a voice, he performs several songs and Travessia, which is one of the most beautiful songs made in Brazil. The second is Sarah Vaughan, accompanied by Piano. Great videos Luiz, will make Loronixers entertained while engineers discuss with zecalouro the next and technically problematic release.

Hope uEnjoy!

Não consegui nenhum dos dois vídeos, por isto a postagem está “com defeito”. Para compensar, consegui um vídeo da Sarah Vaughan cantando “Eu preciso aprender a ser só” que é extraordinário.
